Sakura Matsuri

This weekend, I went to the Sakura Matsuri event with my friends, Kate and Jo located at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. This ridiculously gorgeous maxi dress was thrifted a few days before the event and was perfect for the occasion. I absolutely adore the ruffled details and kimono inspired design of this dress. Thanks to Kate's mom who worked at the Garden, we were able to get in for free :) Once we got into the Garden, we saw several different varieties of sakuras, although they were still in the midst of blooming. We saw performances of Taiko drumming and the Lolita Parasol Fashion Show which was a huge culture trip. The day before I had attended the fashion show at school which promoted Caribbean/African/Dominican designers with entertainment from the Haitian Drumming Club. You can always count on NYC to have a variety of choices.
